hooray for spring!

it was the most beautiful day of the year so far. we played bocce and walked around elmwood and just had a fun time.

and then i got down to working on my project :D


i mentioned earlier that i am working on a fabric folio for homemade notebooks of recycled paper. i got my fabric (bottom of the page), realized the blues clashed and had to improvise.

these work well together, luckily.

i'm going to use some green and brown ribbon for accents.

here are the parts cut out. the right (blue flowers) is a pocket for the back of a notebook.
the small houndstooth pocket is for business cards.
behind that, the horizontal brown strips, is a pocket, and a pocket behind that too.

i actually was able to use the horizontal brown stripe material that i thought would clash--- it's the horizontal brown stripes that is peeking out as the top of a pocket.

i'm really excited to get working on it.






and meanwhile, kitty slept.

and slept some more.
