what a day!
this morning, i attended a summit on the subject of green economy, held by Assemblyman Sam Hoyt. one champion of this burgeoning movement is van jones, founder of greenforall and the ella baker center. he was featured recently on colbert (apr. 1)
this summit was intended to be a conversation starter. i really, really hope somebody follows through with this. for the 2nd poorest city in the country, it perhaps could be just slightly beneficial to our economy. not to mention really great for the environment and, oh, yeah there's that other slightly helpful thing of being known as a progressively green city. but, i am expecting nothing will happen. i'm sure the politicians will pretty much do nothing about it.
anyhoo, not to get too down on buffalo. we've got a lot going for us. i met some friends at pearl st. for the first buffalo indie market. it was awesome! i wanted to buy everything. for you crafty/stylish girls out there, check out these vendors:
ry stevens design
polkadotbug
pink elefant
crowbiz
and i purchased 2 items from this absolutely fantastic vendor.
thennnnnn! i went down to fleet feet. i have been needing good new sneakers for my walks home from work. i got some great comfy new kicks from tim, can't wait to use them!
that's it so far... i'm pooped :)
